Grow with Us

New City Youth


We’re all about encouraging a community of middle school and high school students who live and love like Jesus and invite others into a life of belonging with Christ. We believe that when students find a place of acceptance, they begin to move forward in discovering who Jesus is and what it looks like to live the life He created them to live.

We strive to create that kind of community through weekly services. Middle School meets Sundays at 9:00 AM. High School gathers Sundays at 6:00 PM. 

We study and discuss scripture to help students see how Biblical truth is relevant in their daily lives. Our small groups and social events build connections and take students deeper in discipleship. 

Winter and summer camps also provide intentional spaces to connect with Jesus and one another.

Meet Zach!

Hi! My name is Zach Carlson, and I have the joy of serving as the Youth Pastor at New City, where I oversee our junior high and high school students. I first came to New City in 2022 and soon after stepped into the internship program. During my time as a youth intern in 2023–2024, I discovered a deep passion for walking alongside students in their faith. In the summer of 2024, I officially joined the staff to help lead the youth ministry.

I grew up in Minnesota but moved to Arizona to attend Grand Canyon University, where I recently graduated. Through GCU and New City, I met my wife, Elizabeth—we were married not long ago, and she now serves as a junior high leader! We love investing in students together and helping them grow in their relationship with the Lord.

One of my favorite parts of this ministry is getting to know each student’s story and encouraging them to build a strong biblical foundation for their lives.
