Mission
New City exists to make disciples who take the hope and love of Jesus to the places we live, work, study, and play.

Role Summary
The Children’s Pastor/Director leads the vision and ministry for children from birth through 5th grade by
helping kids know Jesus, partnering with parents as the primary discipler of their children, and equipping
volunteers to serve with joy and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Passionately Lead Kids and Families
• Create engaging, age-appropriate environments where children learn the gospel and experience the
love of Jesus
• Partner with parents through regular communication, encouragement, and practical discipleship
support
• Support families through spiritual milestones such as child dedication and baptism
• Build relationships with families and provide pastoral presence when needed

Follow the Ways of Jesus in Discipleship
• Oversee biblically faithful curriculum for children from birth through 5th grade
• Equip leaders with clear lesson plans and resources to help teach effectively
• Adapt and refine curriculum to reflect the theology and culture of New City
• Continually evaluate the discipleship pathway for children and families

Build Authentic Community with Volunteers
• Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer teams serving in Kids Ministry
• Provide clear expectations, leadership development, and encouragement for volunteers
• Foster a culture where volunteers feel valued, equipped, and spiritually supported
• Ensure safety processes and screening procedures are followed with care

Practice Generosity Through Family Ministry
• Plan and oversee gatherings that help parents grow as disciplers of their children
• Oversee the leadership of New City Mom’s ministry
• Create opportunities for families to connect with others in similar life stages
• Partner with staff to integrate families into church wide moments such as Christmas, Easter, and Love

Pursue Excellence in Kids Ministry Environments
• Provide leadership and oversight for all children’s environments during Sunday services
• Ensure classrooms are prepared, staffed, and welcoming each week
• Maintain safe and organized check in systems for families
• Oversee and direct the Kids Coordinator who assists in the administration of New City Kids

The NextGen Pastor/Director oversees the ministry for College and Youth (6th-12th grades), helping the
next generation follow Jesus and live out their faith in the places they live, work, study, and play. The ideal
candidate for this role will equip leaders and thrive through delegation, development, and training. These
ministries emphasize strategic gatherings, which fuel meaningful smaller group communities. With the
assistance of a Ministry Coordinator, this person will build environments where the next generation can
gather, belong, and serve.

Key Responsibilities

Passionately Lead the Next Generation
• Provide vision and leadership for Youth and College ministries, developing environments that are
welcoming, relational, and positioned for growth
• Lead and develop the Ministry Coordinator while building relationships and providing pastoral care
for students and college-aged individuals
• Encourage and model a lifestyle of faith for students in the places they live, work, study, and play

Follow the Ways of Jesus in Discipleship
• Develop and lead a clear discipleship pathway for middle school, high school, and college
students
• Equip leaders with biblically faithful, culturally relevant teaching and training resources

Build Authentic Community with Volunteers
• Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer leaders across Youth and College ministries
• Develop leaders who disciple students through groups, mentorship, and consistent investment
• Provide leadership, coaching, and clear expectations while fostering a culture of encouragement
and support

Practice Generosity Through Next Generation Ministries

• Create opportunities for students to serve the church and the city and step into meaningful roles
• Help students discover their gifts while encouraging generosity of time, talent, and resources
• Partner with staff to integrate students into churchwide moments and the life of the church

Pursue Excellence in Kids Ministry Environments
• Provide leadership and oversight for NextGen gatherings to ensure they are prepared, welcoming
and spiritually meaningful
• Manage ministry calendars, communication, and coordination with churchwide initiatives
• Continually evaluate and improve systems and environments to support growth and alignment with

The Youth Coordinator supports the College + Youth Director by helping lead and execute Youth ministry
environments and disciple students. This role focuses on middle school and high school students, helping
build consistent, welcoming environments where students can belong, grow, and serve. The Coordinator
plays a key role in supporting leaders, developing relationships with students, and helping Youth Ministry
continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Passionately Lead the Next Generation 
• Build consistent relationships with students so they feel known, valued, and connected within
Youth Ministry
• Encourage students to live out their faith in their schools, friendships, and daily lives

Follow the Ways of Jesus in Discipleship
• Support small groups and discipleship environments that help students follow Jesus in practical
ways
• Assist in preparing and organizing teaching that is biblically grounded and relevant to students

Build Authentic Community with Volunteers
• Help create opportunities for students to serve within Youth and in the life of the church
• Encourage students to use their time, gifts, and energy to serve others

Practice Generosity Through NextGen Ministries
• Create opportunities for students to serve the church and the city and step into meaningful roles
• Help students discover their gifts while encouraging generosity of time, talent, and resources

Pursue Excellence in Kids Ministry Environments
• Help ensure Youth gatherings are prepared, organized, and welcoming each week
• Assist with setup, teardown, and logistics for Youth services and events
• Support communication and systems that help Youth Ministry run efficiently

Salary

Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week). Required availability on Sundays and midweek Youth
gatherings, along with occasional events.
